NextGen Stars Network
ABOUT

Concept

Professor David Musial who is an award-winning, multi-platinum MENTOR to a multitude of students for over 25 years created this show. NextGen Stars is about the MENTOR who nurtures, develops and maybe even “launches” the Next Generation of Stars. The MENTOR may be a University Professor, a School Teacher or a Professional who runs an industrial or entertainment company. The Mentor directly or indirectly assists new talents in their fields. This is about HOW a talent is nurtured to develop his or her potential. You see the before, during, and after results. Since we all are part-teacher and part-student, this should resonate widely, but it is not a "teaching" show... it's entertainment!

Professor David Musial developed the idea for this NETWORK/Show in the early 1990's and, in furtherance thereof, has registered the name NextGen Stars® in 2011. From 2012-current, he has fine-tuned the concepts and filmed a great deal of content to now be ready to oversee a team of highly skilled college TV & Music Production interns, to complete the production and editing venture. (This is full circle-Mentorship at it's best!) The concept is designed to be a regular weekly time slot as a traditional TV Documentary. It can be in one hour, two hour, or 13 ten-minute webisode formats. There are currently over 26 topics (two traditional seasons), and the list is growing. The TITLE of this concept is similar to a NETWORK, in that because there are a multitude of categories, they could each be a CHANNEL. Individuals could have a SHOW or a PROGRAM of SHOWS on the CHANNEL. For Example: "Bubble Queen" would be on the MUSIC Channel with it's own PROGRAM called the "BUBBLE QUEEN SHOW", which would have on-going episodes. "King Fish Man" would be on the SPORTS CHANNEL with it's own PROGRAM called the "FISH IN THE WILD" Show, which would have on-going episodes. "The Wacky Chef Show" could be on a "Cooking" or "Music" channel, or both! Season One of NextGen Stars® is based on the entertainment industry, but as the show progresses, it may be about virtually any industry.

Season One

Prof. Musial is one of the “Mentors” in season one of NextGen Stars®. He has a vast collection of source footage already “on the shelf” and is ready to be made into documentaries. Each show will have new "Mentors" who can work in any discipline: Auto Mechanic, Underwater Welder, Plumber, Electrician, Nurse, because the people they mentor become the “Stars” of the Next Generation. There could even be a show where we search for the "Next Mentors". Hmm?  Each topic or show will be at least 2 hours in running time and most could grow into a traditional 13-Episode series. It will be produced in a variety of segment styles. These segments can then be grouped and edited into 10, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minute shows. Each show will have at least 13-Ten Minute Episodes if it is for Web distribution, with the hope of this being at least a standard hour-long Episode for an on-going Series under the name NextGen Stars®.

History

Prof. David Musial has developed the concept on his private time, from his personal experience over the past 25 years since he taught his first course at New York University. He has taught over 2,000 college students in all areas of music and music production over the past 20 years. His college curriculum won second place in America in 2012 at the “Best Colleges” rating system for “Most Innovative”. The Music Technology student government awarded Musial the "Professor-Of-The-Year" award. A documentary he co-produced about the great jazz legend "Dave Brubeck" aired on national TV. Musial worked on over 10 Gold/Platinum records and over 100 TV Shows. Musial's Middle & High School "Smart Trax" concept received a rare award from the United States Department of Justice for "Promoting Positive Messages Trough Music", after he produced shows: for DARE International in Disney and the U.S. Young Marines in the "Hall Of Heroes" in the PENTAGON and a song he produced was used by the United Nations form the 50th Anniversary! Musial composed the theme for the United States Department of Justice Anti-Violence Campaign, and it earned an Emmy Award for MTV! Professor Musial (along with the President of MTV) was inducted into the City of Buffalo "Music Hall Of Fame" in 2014.

Musial began official production for the NextGen Stars series in the late Spring of 2012 and is launching the show in 2016. He has a vast base of talent to call upon to assist with the concept from Producers, Writers, Artists, Hosts, and Voice-Overs to Technical Staff.

The Crowd Funding Campaign Concept

The Crowd Funding Campaign for the MASTER "NextGen Stars®" Show concept will enable us to create a 2-Hour Pilot Show, demonstrating samples of the over 20 topics we already have in our library.  The collection of content may be further subdivided into a minimum of 13-Ten Minute segments for social net distribution, (if it is not "picked up by a traditional Network immediately.) Many of the shows are already in progress, some only need editing, but this takes a great deal of time. In addition the overall "Show Theme" or "Feel/Style" needs to now be "polished": 3D Logo Designs, "supers" or on-screen text designs, theme music and instrumentals need to be enhanced, social net and website enhancements. A portion of the campaign will be for advertising of the series, if it goes to social net first, like YouTube. Individual campaigns may be launched to produce more programming for select shows, which will grow the overall audience.

Maybe someday we'll have a regular time-slot on a traditional network like PBS, or maybe we will even have our own YouTube-like Network with channels dedicated to industries, and individuals get their or feature or program. Hey, dreaming's free and through a variety of grants and artistic sponsorships, Professor Musial has been able to help all of these amazing Mentors who are the current NextGen Stars!  Now he needs YOUR help to take this exciting, positive energy concept, to greater places... like the smart phone your child or little sister or brother is using like crazy for entertainment.
